DESCRIPTION:PCA-CHS 2026 Tour & Rally Event No. 12 – Sunday\, September 6th \nClick Here to Register\nJoin the Chesapeake Region for an off-road drive around the Frederick City Watershed. While most of our tours are road focused\, this light off-road tour meanders through gorgeous hills\, tall green trees\, feathery ferns\, clear streams\, impressive rock formations\, wildlife in the Frederick Municipal Forest. \nThe tour starts and ends at Springfield Manor Winery\, Brewery and Distillery in Thurmont\, MD. The theme of the tour is driving at safe off-road speeds\, enjoying the outdoor scenery and experiencing the Porsche Cayenne and Macan off-road ability. The four-door Porsche SUVs also provide opportunities to bring more passengers. \nWe have visited this area in the past and it has always been a great off-road drive and fun time at the winery after. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nBlack Ankle Wander \nPCA-CHS 2026 Tour & Rally Event No. 14 – Thursday\, Sept 17 \nIn keeping with the theme of the weekday wander tours\, we are going to drive some of the better roads of Howard\, Carroll and Frederick counties and end at a destination that would typically limit our ability to accept registrations due to space.  We will have a terrific drive\, lunch\, and optional wine tasting\, and vineyard tour as described below. \nThe destination is Black Ankle Vineyard in Mt Airy\, Maryland.  Why Black Ankle?  Kim and I have been a fan of this winery for many years.  The wines are made with grapes grown only on the land owned by Black Ankle.  The venue’s outdoor patio space and surrounding hills are a perfect place to enjoy a great glass of wine and lunch. \nWe will start in Ellicott City\, MD for an approximate 60 mile drive through scenic parts of Howard\, Caroll and Frederick counties.  Once we arrive at the Winery\, we will enjoy a buffet lunch\, which includes a sandwich\, salads\, and dessert.  After lunch\, you can go on a vineyard tour. Wine tastings and wine by the glass or bottle will be available for purchase. We will start with an optional breakfast at the Cracker Barrel in New Freedom\, PA\, then drive an amazing route through Lancaster County\, PA.  After winding our way through Lancaster County\, we will end at Barry’s Car Barn. This museum features an assortment of classic American muscle cars and vehicle related memorabilia. You can also explore the town of Intercourse\, PA\, and experience some of what Lancaster County has to offer. \nBarry’s Car Barn does charge a $15 admission.
