SUMMARY:Werks Reunion Monterey
DESCRIPTION:Click HERE for more details\nPorsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all Porsche clubs\, owners\, and enthusiasts to the Twelfth Annual Werks Reunion Amelia Island on August 14\, 2026\, the Friday preceding the Monterey Concours d’Elegance. We invite you to come to The Monterey Pines Golf Course to see a breathtaking array of Porsches\, from rare to current models and everything in between! \nThis year\, we will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the 924 in 1976\, as well as the series of transaxle Porsches. The 924 was both innovative\, with the transaxle layout achieving balanced handling\, and crowd-pleasing\, as the entry-level model made the Porsche brand more accessible to a broader audience. \nThe Porsche 924 wasn’t even supposed to be a Porsche. Initially developed for Volkswagen under the project name EA 425\, Volkswagen scrapped the plan\, and Porsche acquired it as an entry-level replacement for the 914 and 912E. \nWhen it hit the U.S.\, the 924 shocked Porsche purists; it was the brand’s first front-engine\, water-cooled transaxle car\, and American road testers weren’t kind. However\, Porsche continued to refine the formula\, and over 152\,000 were produced. \nBy the late ’70s\, reviews softened\, praising its sharp looks\, comfy seats\, and road-hugging feel. A Turbo arrived in ’79\, but the upcoming 944 stole the spotlight\, leaving unsold 924s to linger on lots. The model bowed out in the U.S. in 1982\, only to return as the 924 S in 1987 with a Porsche-built 2.5L and a livelier 147 hp. \nToday\, finding a clean 924 isn’t easy—early cars especially. But those who know\, know: the OG 924 may be slower and noisier\, yet it’s simpler\, easier to maintain\, and a true piece of Porsche history. \nYou are not required to be a PCA member to participate in this celebration of Porsche automobiles; however\, you must register to Corral or be Judged. Display your cherished car in model-specific Porsche Corrals\, or enter the Porsche Judged Field and compete to win in more than 20 prize categories. \nThe Porsche Club of America created Werks Reunion as an event to celebrate both the Porsche marque and the camaraderie of being an enthusiast. This is not a contest of who has removed dust from the deepest crevices in their Porsche\, but rather a judged show that rewards a Porsche that has been lovingly maintained and presents itself well on the field. Our judges do not use Porsche Parade Concours score sheets; instead\, they rank the cars based on the specific attributes discussed before judging. For those who do not wish to have their cars judged\, you may display in the model-specific corrals or\, if the organizers see fit\, on the judged field itself. There are no score sheets returned or protest committees. This is a casual gathering of Porsche enthusiasts focused on having fun rather than solely on competition.

SUMMARY:Concours Vehicle Prep Event
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nThis year’s Chesapeake Challenge will have two levels of Concours competition: Full (exterior\, interior\, engine compartment\, storage compartment\, and wheels) and Street (exterior and interior). If you’re planning to compete this year\, or are thinking about participating\, or are simply interested in seeing how to get the best results from the time spent prepping and detailing your car\, the Concours Committee invites you to this year’s Concours Vehicle Prep Event. \nIf you have never entered a Concours\, or if seems overwhelming\, the Street Class was created as an easier way to show off your Porsche.  Because the engine compartment\, storage compartment\, and wheel wells are not judged in the Street Class\, prepping the vehicle is much simpler.  We hear from folks all the time that they really enjoyed doing the Street Class and they continue to participate\, sometimes moving up to Full Concours. \nJoin experts and fellow Club members demonstrating successful techniques on how to prepare your car for a Concours competition.  The team will conduct a live clean-up of different sections of an unprepared car and show how to best complete the cleaning and preparation process both before the day of competition as well as on site at the event. \nWe will also have a professional car care expert available to discuss tips and tricks\, as well as answer questions on products and process. \nDon’t miss this chance to see preparation in action\, share best practices with fellow members\, engage in Q&A with successful Concours participants and judges on the detail and proven processes for showing your car at its best\, and hear pro tips that you can implement at home as well. \nAttendees will have a chance to win a $250 gift card to Westminster Speed & Sound\, courtesy of our host\, Mark Miller. \nWHEN and WHERE \n\nWhen:  August 22\, 2026\, Saturday\, 8:30 am – 11 am Continental Breakfast at 8:30 AM\, Event starts at 9:00 AM\nWhere:  Westminster Speed & Sound\, 202 Pennsylvania Ave\, Westminster\, Westminster\, MD 21157\nCost:  There is no charge or MSR fee for attending this event.\n\nREGISTRATION \n\nRegistration is open now on MSR and closes Thursday\, August 20 at 5:00 pm.\nEveryone must sign a speed waiver for this event.\nThe event is open to all PCA members.\nThis event is limited to 25 participants.\n\nQUESTIONS: Please send questions to Phil Andrews\, Concours Committee Chair\, at concours@pcachs.org.
