SUMMARY:Tech Tactics East
DESCRIPTION:Tech Tactics is a day dedicated to Porsche technical information. This event is for all Porsche enthusiasts\, from casual information gatherers to everyday Porsche mechanics. Get the latest news directly from the source. Topics range from balancing carburetors to understanding how the new hybrid systems work. \nThe event was born in 1980 in the heart of Zone One at the Harley Hotel north of Hartford\, CT. It quickly outgrew the facility and moved to the Springfield Sheraton\, where it resided for over twenty years.  By the 1990s\, it was the premier technical weekend for PCA\, featuring renowned speakers such as Norbert Singer\, Phil Hill\, Derek Bell\, and Brian Redman. \nBy 2007\, attendance was dwindling\, and a new venue was in order. The event was moved to the Farnbacher-Loles facility in Danbury\, CT. The move regenerated interest in the event\, with over 250 attendees. With the demise of the F-L facility\, we moved again and slightly changed direction in terms of format. \nIn 2011\, Tech Tactics became a PCA National Event and was hosted at the PCNA Training facility in Easton\, PA. Later that year\, PCA hosted the West Coast version in the same type of facility. This facility has been the perfect home for this “hands-on “type of event. This facility is used to train Porsche technicians on the intricacies of new Porsches and to provide valuable training on Porsches of the past. It is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms with lifts and drivetrain assemblies\, which will be available for our event. In 2025\, the facility expanded its technical classroom footprint\, adding additional space for Porsche Classic training. We are excited to once again host Tech Tactics East at the Porsche Training Facility in February 2026. \nTech Tactics East is limited to 125 entrants per day. The day consists of lectures by PCNA Field Specialists\, PAG Project Managers\, members of the PCA Technical Committee\, and representatives from other companies\, including Michelin\, LN Engineering\, Total Seal\, and Griots Garage. \nBack for an eleventh year: Tech Tactics Die-cast Model Concours! This is a People’s Choice event\, with the winner receiving a special prize! Dust off your favorite die-cast model (in any scale)\, polish the wheels\, and bring it to the event for display. Please\, only one model per entrant. \nAll attendees must be pre-registered. There will be NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. \n*Must be a PCA Member to attend. To join PCA or renew your membership\, please visit www.pca.org. \nIf you have any questions\, please don’t hesitate to contact Manny Alban at 410-381-0911 or mannya@pca.org. \nEVENT LOCATION: \nPorsche Training Facility\n170 Commerce Lane\nEaston\, PA 18045 \nREGISTRATION OPENS: Wednesday\, January 7\, 2026\, at 12:00 PM ET\nCOST:  $90.00 per person (per day) \nSATURDAY\, 2/21/26 – REGISTRATION LINK\nSUNDAY\, 2/22/26 – REGISTRATION LINK \n  \nContact Name: Manny Alban

SUMMARY:Porsche Annapolis Tech Talk
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nPorsche Annapolis will graciously open their facility on April 18th at 9:30am to host PCA Chesapeake for a highly informative tech session presented by Gold Meister Technician Mr. Justin Tufts.  Mr. Tufts will discuss which ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) require calibration\, the conditions or repairs which may prompt requirement for calibration\, and how these systems work together to provide the modern Porsche driving experience. \nSo what is ADAS?  ADAS are technologies that assist drivers with the safe operation of a vehicle. Through a human-machine interface\, ADAS increases car and road safety. ADAS uses automated technology\, such as sensors and cameras\, to detect nearby obstacles or driver errors and respond accordingly. ADAS can enable various levels of autonomous driving. \nAs most road crashes occur due to human error\, ADAS are developed to automate\, adapt\, and enhance vehicle technology for safety and better driving. ADAS is proven to reduce road fatalities by minimizing human error. Safety features are designed to avoid crashes and collisions by offering technologies that alert the driver to problems\, implementing safeguards\, and taking control of the vehicle if necessary. ADAS may provide adaptive cruise control\, assist in avoiding collisions\, alert drivers to possible obstacles\, warn of lane departure\, assist in lane centering\, incorporate satellite navigation\, provide traffic warnings\, provide navigational assistance through smartphones\, automate lighting\, or provide other features. According to the national crash database in the US\, forward collision prevention systems have the potential to reduce crashes by 29%. Similarly\, lane keeping assistance is shown to offer a reduction potential of 19%\, while blind zone detection could decrease crash incidents by 9%. \nRegistration is limited to 80 participants and will open at noon March 2 and will close at noon April 15th. \n

SUMMARY:NHRA Potomac Nationals 2026
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nHow much Horsepower (HP) do we need?  Should we buy the base\, the S\, the GTS the Turbo or the Turbo S? Mark Donoahue\, the famous Porsche works driver that conquered the Can-Am series with the 917 in the early 1970s\, once said that “If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next\, you have enough horsepower.”  \nHave you ever seen or heard a car that can produce upwards of 12\,000 HP? If you have not\, then this is your chance to experience something that is almost un-worldly. The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is holding their Potomac Nationals at Maryland Internation Raceway (MIR) the end of May. Your Tech Team thought that maybe you’d like to expand your automotive adventures by making the journey with us on May 30th to see Top Fuel cars and other car classes that race at this event. \nTop Fuel drag cars produce so much HP that there is no dynamometer in the world that can measure it.  Engineers calculate that they produce somewhere between 11\,000 and 12\,000 HP with 12\,000 ft lbs of torque. These cars consume approximately 15 gallons of fuel\, 90% nitromethane and 10% methanol\, during their 3.6 second run over 1000 feet of asphalt. The exhaust alone produces approximately 1\,100 pounds of downforce. (The aero devices of a 2016 GT3RS produce 750 pounds).  Top fuel cars hit the 100 MPH mark in 0.8 seconds\, which is about 1/3 of the time that it takes a Turbo S to do the same thing. While the Turbo S will hit an impressive 20 PSI of boost\, Top Fuel cars will hit 74 PSI. At the end of the 3.6 second run Top Fuel cars will hit 330 MPH. \nAfter each run Top Fuel cars require a full engine rebuild! Drag racing allows the fans far more access to the cars and the teams in the pits. You’ll be able to watch the crews do the rebuilds and engine swaps in a matter of hours as they prep for the next run. \nThese are violent pieces of automotive technology. These cars do not go quietly into the darkness.  Bring your ear plugs as they will generate 150dB\, which is enough to do physical damage.  Not only will you see and hear these beasts\, but you will feel the exhaust shock waves hitting your chest. This is a very visceral experience and will not be soon forgotten. \nThis event is a bit out of the box for PCA Chesapeake.  MIR is in Mechanicsville Maryland\, which is about a 1-1/2 hour drive out of Baltimore.  MIR’s gates open at 9AM. We plan to leave Baltimore about 8 AM. Our launch location will be announced later once we get a feel for how many of us will be going. Parking will be on the grass\, so you may not want to drive your GT4RS. \nTickets to get into MIR for this event are not available through MotorsportReg.  Tickets must be purchased directly from NHRA. Tickets are priced from approximately $60 to $90 for Saturday depending on seating. We are planning to sit in Section C2 rows K & L. The tickets will provide pit access\, and you’ll be able to see the cars up close. You can buy tickets from NHRA here: \nhttps://nhra.evenue.net/event/26MM/MM1SA \nNHRA has not yet announced the class run schedule. We may adjust our arrival time at MIR once NHRA makes that announcement so that we do not miss the Top Fuel cars. Your Tech Team will monitor NHRA’s announcements are keep you informed of any changes. \nSeating chart: $91.75 per ticket\, includes taxes and fees: \n \nWHEN and WHERE \n\nWhen: May 30\, 2026\, Saturday\nMeeting time: 8am\nEnd of races: afternoon/evening (TBD)\nMeeting Point:  TBD (central Maryland)\nCost: Members are responsible for their admission tickets. https://nhra.evenue.net/event/26MM/MM1SA\nRegistration is free and required for planning purposes.\nIf you have already registered and need help to cancel your registration\, refer to this link for detailed instructions.\nSpeed Waiver link: https://pcachesapeake.speedwaiver.com/mwuzl\n\nQUESTIONS \nPlease call Jim Earlbeck\, 410-802-4397\, or email jearlbeck@earlbeck.com\, if you have any questions or thoughts on how to make this event better.
