Porsche Silver Spring invites you to our 4th annual 24 Hours of Le Mans Broadcast Party
This year’s event will be held at Gramophone in Columbia, Maryland. A long-time marketing partner of Porsche Silver Spring, Gramophone has supplied and serviced our AV equipment since we moved into our new Porsche Center in 2010.
Fresh from a successful 36 Hour test, the Porsche 919 Hybrid team is aiming for its third consecutive overall victory at LeMans – and its 19th at the legendary circuit since Porsche’s first overall victory in 1970 with the 917.
In the ultra-competitive GTE Pro Class, Porsche’s updated “mid-engine” 911 RSR will look for its new design and proven reliability to prevail against factory teams from Ferrari, Corvette, Aston Martin, and Ford.
A few favorites from events past will also provide support for our event:
Food from long-time friends T & J Waffles
Drinks from One Eight Distilling
A new brewery, from just down the road, Black Flag Brewing Co. will also be serving a few of their brews!

PCA-CHS 2017 Tour Event No. 4
June 10, Saturday
The Chesapeake Bay Tour will take place after the Chesapeake Region’s “New Member Party” to be hosted and sponsored by Porsche of Annapolis. We will assemble in and begin from the Stevensville Park & Ride Lot east of the Bay Bridge. Our drive will take us into some interesting backroads that few visitors to the Eastern Shore ever see, much less drive on. Our destination is CPR Classic East’s restoration shop in Easton.
CPR Classic East specializes in enhancing or giving new life to vintage Porsches. Guided tours by shop owner Bruce Wakefield and his staff will be provided to PCA members from the Chesapeake Region, as well as from the Potomac, Delaware and Central Pennsylvania regions.
NEW MEMBER PARTY
Driving tour participants may go straight to the meeting place in Stevensville by 11:30 a.m. or begin their morning by first attending the “New Member Party,” to which new and veteran members are invited. The party, to be held at Porsche of Annapolis, will start at 9:00 a.m. at 20 Hudson St., Annapolis, MD 21401. Coffee and pastries will be served. Then representatives of the various PCA-CHS committees will describe the many activities available for the enjoyment of all members. Goody bags will be distributed to new members, and all attendees will get a chance to win wonderful door prizes.
TOUR’S MEETING PLACE
After the party concludes at 11:00 a.m., new members will have a chance to immediately take part in a driving tour, together with veteran members.
Those coming from the party should immediately drive east on US-301/US-50 via the Bay Bridge and take exit 37. Those not attending the party may go straight to the meeting place by taking Exit 37, then making a right turn (from the west) onto Romancoke Rd/MD-8 S, and subsequently making a left turn onto Thompson Creek Rd. The Stevensville Park & Ride Lot is at 111 Thompson Creek Rd., Stevensville, MD 21666. The assembly time is 11:30 a.m.
A drivers’ meeting will be held at 11:45 a.m. After the waiver forms are signed and the car ID tags are handed out, we will depart as a caravan by noon.
Our drive through the highways and backroads of the Eastern Shore will take us to CPR Classic East at 9329 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601, where a “Porsche-O-Rama” will be held. We will arrive there by around 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be available from a food truck onsite.
Several guided tours of the restoration shop will be available every 20 minutes. Each could last 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the questions asked by the attendees.
After the shop tours, attendees may opt to dine at one of the nearby restaurants, such as Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Panera Bread and Chipotle. Other dining options abound in Easton’s charming downtown.
After visiting the CPR Classic East shop and eating lunch, driving tour participants may proceed to other nearby destinations on their own, such as the art galleries in Easton’s historic downtown or the antique shops and the newly opened Classic Motor Museum in St. Michaels.
Registration for this driving tour opened on May 16 at http://www.clubregistration.net. It is DISTINCT from registration for the “New Members Party.” For the tour, indicate how many people will be in your car and submit their names. We need people’s names for our preprinted PCA waiver forms. The tour registration deadline is June 6. Driving instructions and drivers’ meeting notes will be sent to registrants via e-mail by June 7.
This June 10 event is a joint undertaking of the Membership Committee and the Tour & Rally Committee of the Chesapeake Region. Send questions about the party to firstname.lastname@example.org and about the driving tour to email@example.com.
We have reserved the Hull Street Blues for a Sunday Buffet Brunch starting at 11am. We have used this place before for a Sun outing and received gold stars. We are allowed to use the Under Armor parking lot one block down the street on the opposite side. There are only 5 stairs total to manipulate. The food is great and the Bloody Mary’s do the job.
Send an email to Social@pcachs.org for your reservation.
The way our by-laws are written ,the Executive committee is elected by the region membership. The by-laws also state the we serve a two year term with the maximum being four years total in an elected position. This is simple term limits, Lynda Sobus , our beloved and honored treasurer has reached her four year limit and therefore has to step down as treasurer. We are extremely fortunate to have Lynda serve as treasurer. She will be stepping down but may stay on in another position. Her term is up in December of 2017. We are actively looking for her replacement . The transition will be much easier the sooner we find someone to fill her position, that way she can answer any questions that may arise. If you are curious or interested please contact either Lynda or me.
