November 5 Fall Colors Tour

BALTIMORE AREA FALL COLORS TOUR

PCA-CHS 2017 Tour No. 11, NOV. 5, Sunday

We have two Fall Colors Tours this year. The first one will take us to the Catoctin Mountains of Maryland on Oct. 28. The second one, this one, will take us around the Liberty Reservoir in the northwestern suburbs of Baltimore on Nov. 5. To enjoy the intense red, orange and yellow leaves of autumn, we do not have to go to Virginia’s congested Skyline Drive or North Carolina’s distant Blue Ridge Parkway. Right here, in our own backyard, we have many wonderful back roads that twist and turn through scenic woods, lovely hills and gorgeous valleys. Join our 11th tour this year, and experience the beauty of fall in some of the awesome back roads of Baltimore, Carroll and Howard counties. This is a 47-mile drive worthy of our Porsches.

ASSEMBLY PLACE

We will gather at 9:30 AM at the parking lot behind Kecco’s Woodfire Kitchen, 114 Westminster Pike, Reisterstown, MD 21136. Note that the restaurant does not open until 11:30 AM, so we will not be able to use its restrooms. Our drivers’ meeting will begin at 9:45 AM, and we will depart by 10:00 AM. We will have a 20-minute pit stop at around 11:00 AM.

Restroom visits before 9:00 AM could be made at such nearby sites as a Food Lion supermarket, a Dunkin’ Donuts shop, a Shell gas station and a Royal Farms gas station.

LUNCH DESTINATION

This tour does not have a lunch destination. But participants are encouraged to sign up for the PCA-CHS lunch-social at Johanssons Dining House in nearby Westminster. That is a separate event that requires a separate registration via e-mail to social@pcachs.org. That 12:45 PM lunch-social has a capacity limit of 40 people, so sign up as soon as possible if you want to join it. Note that we will end the tour at around noon at our starting point, the parking lot of Kecco’s Woodfire Kitchen in Reisterstown. From there, Johanssons is a 20-minute drive away. Participants not taking part in the Westminster lunch-social may want to try Kecco’s authentic southern Italian cuisine.

REGISTRATION

• Register for this tour at http://www.clubregistration.net.
• The registration DEADLINE is 11:59 PM, Nov. 1. Confirmations will be sent to all registrants via e-mail.
• After your registration is confirmed, please cancel it online if you are unable to attend the tour.
